Simple Shifts in Your Mind

Stress Management.

[Stress is our internal reaction to outside stimuli. If you can’t change the situation that is causing the stress, it is best to change the way you look at the situation. There are many sources of stress and they vary from one person to another depending on the surrounding circumstances.

Sources of stress can be classified in three categories; catastrophic events, major life changes and daily hassles. Catastrophic events are those that happen suddenly and the victim has no defensive mechanism. They include natural disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes, fires, floods and hurricanes. Others are wars, torture, accidents, attacks among others. The victim may not show the effects immediately but after sometime the stress begins to show.

During our life time we go through many changes and some changes are not welcome. You can face challenges such as divorce, imprisonment, unemployment, illness and death. Planning for a wedding is stressful but marriage is a positive experience (not all stress is negative). Technology advances has brought about new sophisticated ways of doing things leading to more opportunities for us to do more and now the effects of stress are more profound.

Most of the stress in our lives is caused by daily hassles related to our jobs, relationships and surrounding environment. Some petty things irritate us like heavy traffic, noisy neighborhoods, long queues. These are the most common causes of stress. Stress is part of life but you should learn how to cope with it to prevent long term problems.

Operating in a "high stress mode" results in a many stress-related complications, syndromes, and diseases, such as hypertension, chronic anxiety, nervous habits, insomnia, heart disease, IBS, obesity drug and alcohol abuse, hair loss, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, heartburn, gastric reflux, asthma, allergies, chronic viral infections, immune system disorders, breathing disorders, migraines, low back pain, nail biting, skin picking, bruxism, premature aging, and even road or airline rage.

We must remember that stress in our systems is here to stay and we must accept the fact that it will never disappear. How we respond to our stress is ultimately our responsibility. We can not expect to manipulate our environments for removing this stress when it occurs. We have to develop and refine personal inner stress-coping skills, and with these we can better alleviate a significant amount of our stress. We must continue to remember that all of our stresses are conditioned responses and because of this we can reduce them through un-conditioning with our behaviors.

We effectively address stresses through using hypnosis methods for relaxation, teaching clients very effective meditation techniques, showing clients how to respond more creatively to stressful situations and teaching clients some very effective relaxation tools. We include showing clients how to use imagery for removing stress and the installation of protective shields against stress.

Where appropriate, we make use of Next Level Pathways methods such as EFT, SRT and VORTEX HEALING.]
